In order to strengthen its competitiveness, it constantly strives to streamline and rationalize its processes. As part of that work, they have been collaborating with Binar Solutions for more than 15 years.

Scania is a global company that, among other things, manufactures trucks, buses, engines plus marine- and general industrial applications. With more than 50,000 employees in about 100 countries, the head office is in Sweden, while production takes place in Europe and South America.

Challenge

As a company within vehicle manufacturing, Scania operates in an industry that is constantly changing. Growing knowledge, technological innovation, and new markets shape the future, which means that vehicle manufacturers need to stay constantly updated. To strengthen their competitiveness, Scania has chosen to collaborate with the product- and development company Binar Solutions.

Solution

Binar helps Scania with a number of different solutions, mainly related to assembly. An example is a Poka Yoke system, which makes it easy for the operator to do the right thing. Through our Pick-to-Light system, lamps, sensors and buttons are used to instruct employees in what to do and in what order. This reduces the risk of potentially costly mistakes.

Another example is the visualization of important key figures, such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). By automating data collection, a variety of key figures can be calculated and visualized on displays or in the browser. In this way, you can monitor your productivity and act on any deviations in real-time, no matter where you are.
